The Library is OPEN!

On Friday, we officially opened our wonderful new library and it was a very proud day for All Saints!

Successful children's author Jane Elson spent the day with our year five and six children, sharing insight into how she researches and writes her novels. Following this, each class completed a creative writing workshop, planning the setting and characters for their own novels. For any budding authors, it was such an inspiring day, and as teachers it definitely made us reflect on the opportunities children have to simply imagine and write. 

Most importantly, Jane carried out the opening of the new library. In attendance for this, were the newly-appointed year six librarians, and representatives from bodies who have supported the project. 

When the librarians return from Laches Wood, they will undergo training in the borrowing and returns system and we will truly be up and running. This week, all classes will be visiting the library and learning how it works. We hope to hold optional "open library" sessions for parents in the near future. 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support for this project. Every PTFA event you have supported, every class assembly coffee purchased - they have all allowed us to create this incredible room that will benefit our children.
