Parents of year 6 boys - important!

Dear Parents/Carers,

We hope your children came home tonight excited about year six and having had a good day. When I looked into class they were already working hard and making some excellent predictions about the themes of their new novel.

I am writing about an exciting opportunity with which we have been presented. It is an opportunity for our year six boys to take part in a project called Young Gentlemen. The aim of this project is to help boys/young men to understand the possibilities ahead of them, raising their self esteem and helping them to understand the impact they have on the world, becoming the best version of themselves.

There are two reasons I think this project is right our our year six boys:

> I feel this support and motivation will serve as a real self esteem and confidence boost to our children.

> I wholeheartedly believe that a happy and confident year six has an extremely positive impact on the whole school.

We have organised SEVEN sessions for this half term - part way through the project, parents are invited in to attend a short presentation and at the end of the project, the Young Gentlemen are presented with their own tie to congratulate them on their successful participation.

A consent form will be coming home this evening for you to sign.

This project has been partially funded by our PTFA, for which I am extremely grateful. However, it is still going to be costly. As you know, school's funding (as with many small schools) is extremely stretched at the moment. I do not want to say "no" to opportunities that I feel are of genuine benefit to our children. I have therefore set up a section of ParentPay for the Young Gentlemen's project in the hope that parents may be willing to make a donation toward this project.

If you are able to contribute any amount to this project, it will most gratefully received.

We are hoping the project will begin next week. If you have questions, please do get in contact.
