Our Governing Body plays a vital strategic role in ensuring the continued success of the school. Governors work closely with the Headteacher and senior leaders to provide support, challenge and accountability, always with a clear focus on securing the best possible outcomes for all pupils.

Governors do not manage the day-to-day running of the school. Instead, they focus on three core functions: setting the strategic direction, holding leaders to account for educational performance, and overseeing the effective use of resources. This includes monitoring the quality of education, safeguarding, behaviour, attendance and the impact of school improvement priorities.

At our school, all governors sit on two key committees: Learning and Standards and Managing and Organising. The Learning and Standards Committee focuses on curriculum quality, teaching and learning, pupil outcomes and inclusion. The Managing and Organising Committee oversees finance, staffing, premises, health and safety, and wider operational matters. This structure ensures that all governors have a comprehensive understanding of the school and can contribute meaningfully across all areas.

Governors regularly visit the school, review information, and engage in professional dialogue with leaders. Through this work, they ensure the school remains ambitious, well-led and responsive to the needs of its community.
